Hugh Jackman reprises the role that made him a superstar – as the fierce fighting machine who possesses amazing healing powers, retractable claws and a primal fury. Leading up to the events of X-MEN, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE tells the story of Wolverine’s epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe whose appearances in the film series have long been anticipated.

So yesterday was a really fun day. Errol, Rhea, Usha and I headed to Mangalore to watch this Hindi Movie called "Dostana". This is like the first Hindi Movie I've watched all year. And I'm impressed that my travels around India have taught me enough Hindi, that I understood most of the dialogues in the movie, although there were plenty of times when I'd turn to Usha next to me and go "What'd they say ? What'd they saaaay ?"
We were hanging out at Cafe Coffee Day over at Manipal when we came up with the Idea. This is what happens when there arnt any new English Movies to watch at the Mangalore Theatre. We honest, good, English movie watching people have to watch Hindi movies.
Rhea got this cool medal for graduating from University.
Wth. I didnt get any medal ! I want a medal ! It had this crazy engraving of some random dude on the back who we tried to figure out the identity of.
Yeah, who is that guy ? ^
This is me, if I had my own medal.

Notice the happiness. Sigh.
An hour and a half bus ride later, we JUST made it in time for the movie. Here's us hanging out in the theatre :
And me and Usha :

Ah good times.
Dostana's a pretty fun movie. Simply because the script is amazing and the comic timing of all the actors is right on. This is what the sordid multi-starrer hindi comedies these days don’t have. A strong script with witty humor rather than slapstick acts. I wont get into the movie plot, but its basically an updated version of the English movie, I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry.
Its a film you know you shouldn’t be taking seriously. Although, I know a couple scenes might be a little offensive to gay people. You can watch this film for a couple hours of non-stop fun and entertainment.
The story gets a bit predictable and drags out a bit, in the end but as I mentioned earlier, great dialogues and good script makes it work.
I would say go for it and laugh out loud! I know I did.
After the movie, we headed right back to Cafe Coffee Day in the Bharat Mall to hang out and waste a little time again. Here's Errol sippin' on his awesome Mango Frappe :

And me and the Nokia E71 that I'm totally in lurve with :

We really had a lot of Symbian Nokia phones with us that day.

Not a bad collection eh ?
Overall, it was a massively fun day. I cant believe I laughed that much at a hindi movie. I think I have new respect for hindi movies in general now lol.

Gah!!!!! Check out the new trailer for the Star Trek movie, which has been apparently been playing in movie theaters just minutes before the latest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. They didnt show it in the Mangalore Screening on Quantum of Solace that I went to, though.
J. J. Abrams directed Star Trek, which will be released everywhere on May 8, 2009.
For more info on the movie, visit StarTrekMovie.com.
What do all the hardcore Trekkies out there think of the new trailer???
Read More......I got to see the Director's Cut of Tropic Thunder today. Its been a while since I've seen a movie as funny as this one. There's nothing that could describe the amount of creativity and pure comedy that's been poured into this movie.
The story is pretty simple, there are these actors whom are almost at the end of their careers. One is a comedian, one is a rock star, one is oscar winner, and one is a rapper, and a few others tag along. They are try to make a great war movie like Platoon but the director gets overpowered by all these mega-star divas on set, so he decides to put them in the real thing to get them to act properly. But the stars think its a movie set, until its too late. Robert Downey Jr. was nothing short of hilarious in this movie, I was laughing my ass off the whole time.

Definitely recommended.

A new trailer for next summer’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has made its way to the Internets … behold:
While I'm not a HUGE HP fan, I can’t get over how dark the whole movie looks … I mean, I understand why but … if the movie is actually this dark in the theater, it’s gonna make for a gloomy time at the movies. I’m still very much interested in seeing Half-Blood Prince when it hits theaters next July … I guess maybe I'm looking forward to all the gothiness.
So yesterday Roshan, Ami and a couple of their friends and I headed to Mangalore to watch the new James Bond flick , The Quantum of Solace .
Egads thats one great movie. I mean sure it isnt as amazing as The Dark Knight or Ironman, but it holds its ground. Starts off with a nice car chase getting you into the gritty action right away.
Daniel Craig is by far, the toughest James Bond yet, and this movie is filled with rough fight scenes and him getting beat up at every turn. The movie is very raw with a sense of relentless revenge that Bond is seeking after.
I had high expectations for this movie after Casino Royale’s big band and twisty plot. But without spoiling anything, in this movie, Bond is a lone man on a mission and no one can stop him. Its so hectic that you keep trying to piece things together, and at the end of it you keep thinking that there should be more. I was a little dissapointed with the story. It didn’t really satisfy me completely, yes, but is it worth watching ? Hell yeah !
Its worth it just to see Craig’s fully-formed Bond: angry, icily unsentimental, and fleetingly borderline psychotic at the close.
Its definitely not as bad as people are making it out to be. But I do agree with the Bourne-new-Bond comparisons. This movie takes Bond in the same direction as the books so they were just following it afterall. There's no typical James Bond gadgets or cars that shoot missles and what not. There's no Q. Just all Bond.
Still liked it though. I cant believe how Daniel Craig made it out of that movie alive, after doing all those stunts himself.
I went to the movie with Ami, Roshan and a friend of theirs who's name I forgot as soon as they introduced me. You cant expect much more of me really :P
Uday was nice enough to take us in his car. We all chipped in for petrol ofcause.
And as usual, wherever there's Uday, there's his faithful sidekick Vishal :
Ah. Fun times.
We ended up being an hour early for the show (Srsly how often does that happen?) so we basically walked around the Bharat Mall in Mangalore mindlessly to waste time.
Here's Ami and Roshan being crazy in a Sports Store :
After we conquered every shop in the Mall, we headed to the top floor to check out the food court.
Now THIS is a food court ! Makes the one in Manipal look so boring. There was Chinese food, Indian food, Junk food, you name it. All slightly overpriced at Food court prices but that wasnt very surprising anyway. The Food Court over at the Empire Mall in Mangalore is way bigger and pricier and even has a very KFC-ish restaurant in there somewhere.
There was even a restaurant who's sole purpose was Soda-Floats. They had this very cool vintage lookin Pepsi Float Machine :
Ah those were the days eh ?
After all this I came across the name and logo of the Food Court. Its called "Timeout" which is a pretty aite name (they could have done a lot worse), but the funny thing is it has a random picture of a basketball as its logo.
Do you get it now ? Ah it took me a while too.
By then it was time to watch the movie, after which it was pretty late in the evening. The guys all wanted to go to the Liquid Lounge bar to get piss drunk, and since they were my ride, I tagged along to watch the fun.
Vishal had a really good time getting drunk :
Didnt take long for that beer to hit base though :
Meanwhile, lil'ol sober me was quite content with my Gatorade. ITS THE SPORTS DRINK YOU KNOW YOU WANT !
Ofcause eventually the Gatorade got to me :
Freakkin out maaaaaan.
Here's another pic of Ami, Roshan and me being dazzled by the camera's flash :
Sigh. Good times. We finally left the place at about 11:30 pm after Vishal had a brief homosexual encounter with a stranger. Ah that Vishal.
I think I'm getting too old to partay nowadays. Or maybe I was just way too tired that day because it was my first "day out" since my Malaria spell. Meh. The big two-three approaches ! I'm so not ready for it.
Eeeeek !
